VITA Prep training is a free, mandatory class offered to anyone 18 years old and up, to be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 9 a.m. Our VITA Prep class will be held at the Chester County Intermediate Unit located at 455 Boot Road in Downingtown and runs approximately 3 hours. You also have the option of taking this class from the convenience of your home if you cannot attend our classroom session. This class must be taken prior to any tax law training.
After completing VITA Prep you are required to attend one of our free tax law classes. These classes will be held at the Chester County Intermediate Unit located at 455 Boot Road in Downingtown and run from 9 am to 6 pm with lunch provided. We offer three different classes in correlation to the number of years’ experience you have with VITA. This class also has the option of home study if you cannot attend the classroom session.
Once you have taken the training, and are certified, you will be given instructions on how to sign up for your volunteer hours.
Our sites will open January 27, 2020 and run through April 15, 2020. We currently have five sites to choose from located in Coatesville, Downingtown, Phoenixville, Exton and West Chester. We use IRS tax software which you will be fully trained at using. You will be able to choose your volunteer times for as little or a much as you wish … shifts are in 3 and 6 hour increments and are available during the day, evening and on weekends so there is always a time that will fit your schedule.
