For Volunteers

Help Bring Millions of Dollars Back to the Local Economy

Each year, thousands of our customers get tax refunds totaling millions of dollars.  We are now looking for local volunteers (18 years of age or older) to make a difference again this tax season.

The VITA program is a perfect short term community outreach opportunity with flexible hours that benefits low and moderate income households.

  • No prior experience necessary
  • Free IRS Certification Training available in a classroom or at your own pace online
  • Many locations: Coatesville, Downingtown, Exton, Landenberg, Parkesburg, Phoenixville, Pottstown, Royersford and West Chester.
  • Multiple roles available: Facility, Customer Care, Intake Specialists, Basic Tax Preparers, Advanced Tax Preparers, Quality Reviewers, Mentors, Lead Volunteers, Site Coordinators, Photography, Catering, Awards gala, Tax Edcuation, Trainers just to mention a few.  As you can see, not all roles require tax law so there's always a way for anyone to belong to the VITA team!

Volunteers with all experience levels will be trained and certified by the IRS before they assist a taxpayer. A link to the web-based training module that can help to prepare you to become certified is available. Classroom trainings and/or video training to acquaint you with the program and assist you in achieving certification are offered. Volunteer tax preparers prepare all tax returns and the volunteers also provide educational information about the Earned Income Tax Credit and other credits and deductions for which they may be eligible. These credits and deductions may help to increase a taxpayer’s refund amount.
